Chairman of the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL), Wiam Al-Abdaly, on Saturday discussed with the head of the Tunisian Company of Electricity and Gas, Jamil Korkad, coordination in several areas, mainly in energy exchange, maintenance, and training.

The meeting was joined by the Assistant Director-General for Operations at the GECOL, Salah Al-Khafifi, and the Director of the Planning Department, Mohamed Osweider.

A statement by the GECOL on Facebook said the meeting comes within the framework of joint and permanent cooperation between the GECOL and its Tunisian counterpart.

In early June, Tunisian Energy Minister Naila Al-Qanji expressed her country's desire to enhance cooperation in the field of electricity by developing and expanding the electrical connection to Libya.
