The Libyan ambassador to Algeria Saleh Hamma discussed with the personal envoy of the Greek President to Libya and Greek ambassador Georgios Zacharioudakis bilateral relations and the maritime memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by Libya and Turkey.

Hamma said in a meeting on Monday that he had given the Greek envoy a message of reassurance from the GNU to the Greek President, saying that the agreement with Turkey was purely economic and didn't have any political implications. He also said the agreement wasn't for settling scores with Greece.

"We also assured the Greek side that this agreement does not target friends in the region, nor does it affect the sovereignty of any country or the interests of any third party."
