The Libyan American Alliance (LAA) called on the United States (US) must refrain from all actions that legitimize individuals responsible for war crimes or crimes against humanity in Libya.

These remarks came in a statement by the Head of LAA, Essam Omeish, commenting on the meeting of the US Chargé d'Affaires in Libya, Leslie Ordman, and the Deputy Commander of the US Air Forces in Europe and Africa, John Lamontagne, with Khalifa Haftar in Benghazi, saying the photos they took together was an affront to the families of Haftar's victims.

Omeish said that the Biden administration must take steps to ensure that Haftar is held accountable for all crimes he committed against the Libyan people and all the violations against Libyan and international law.
