The Belgian government has denied reports of the disappearance of 10 billion dollars of Libyan frozen funds in Belgium under mysterious circumstances.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Didier Reynders, confirmed that the information published by the Le Vif weekly magazine was fake news, insisting that the Libyan assets are safe and secure.
The Belgian minister expressed his regret for using misinformation by some parliamentarians in his country to denigrate Belgium in front of the international community amid its willingness to present its candidature for the non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council.
