The Libyan Center for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences has denied the news circulating on social media about the occurrence of a tsunami on the Mediterranean Sea.

The international centers have not recorded any atypical seismic activity during the current period and the seismic events are at their normal rates in the Mediterranean Sea, the center indicated.

Tsunami main condition required an earthquake must exceed magnitude 7.0, and this condition does not exist at all in the Mediterranean basin, according to the center.
