The Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, Mohammed Haddad, participated in the annual meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers and Chiefs of Staff of the member states of the North African Region Capability (NARC), which concluded its work on Saturday in Algeria in the presence of the Chief of Staff of the Algerian Army, Saïd Chengriha.
The meetings, which were held from May 2 to May 6, discussed the outcome of the activities of member states, and reviewed ways and mechanisms to develop their components to enhance existing coordination among them to confront threats to the security and safety of the North African region, according to the official page of the General Staff on Facebook.
NARC is a strategic regional mechanism, within the mechanisms of the African Union to resolve conflicts in North Africa. It comes within the framework of the periodic meetings organized by the Executive Secretariat of NARC, which is concerned with promoting peace, security and stability, and developing the capabilities of North African forces: military, police and civilian components.
