Libyan citizens in Tunisia will be exempted from financial penalties and will recover a portion of funds previously confiscated, according to Libya’s Ministry of Interior.

The announcement follows a decision by the Committee for Monitoring the Procedures to Lift Restrictions on Citizens’ Confiscated Funds and Properties Abroad.

The ministry said the move comes after agreements were reached between relevant Libyan and Tunisian authorities.

Affected individuals have been instructed to visit the Tunisian Customs website and complete an administrative reconciliation form to qualify for the exemption and partial refund.

The ministry emphasized the importance of travelers through land and air borders adhering to currency declaration regulations in line with existing legal frameworks.
