According to the same source, the Libyan Coast Guard took measures to thwart any attempt by human traffickers to reuse the boat by setting it on fire.
Additionally, Euronews highlighted an incident on Wednesday, where a vessel carrying 32 migrants from Egypt and Syria sank off the coast of Tobruk. This led to 22 individuals being reported as missing, while nine others were successfully rescued, and one body was recovered.
