The Libyan Coast Guard picked up on Sunday five illegal immigrants from their wrecked boat off the Libyan coast, the Interior Ministry has said.

The ministry explained on Monday that rescue teams had also recovered three bodies, one of which belonged to a woman, noting that the survivors had been transported to the immigration disembarking point in Tripoli Port.

The migrants were assisted upon their arrival on land with health and humanitarian aid before handing them over to the Anti-illegal Immigration Authority, according to the statement.
