Libya-Tunisia

The Deputy Minister of Justice in the Government of National Unity, Naziha Ashour, held a meeting on Tuesday with the Tunisian Minister of Justice, Leila Jaffal, in the capital, Tunis, to discuss ways to enhance judicial cooperation and follow up on the situation of Libyan prisoners there.

The meeting reviewed the agenda of the Libyan-Tunisian Consular Committee, whose next meeting is scheduled to be held in Tripoli in mid-April. The discussions will focus on issues of mutual interest and the development of cooperation mechanisms between the two countries, according to a statement published by the “Hakomitna” platform.

The Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah had previously issued a decision to send the Deputy Minister of Justice on an official mission to Tunisia to monitor the conditions of Libyan prisoners and coordinate with the Libyan embassy regarding Libyan citizens who have crossed the border illegally.
