The Libyan embassy in Paris has denied what it describes as rumors of a group storming and stealing money from it in a press briefing.

The embassy said in its statement that the rumors were about the disappearance of a sum of 42 thousand euros, which belonged to some employees who placed it with a colleague in the safe depository box and that the embassy safe was opened without any need to break in.

Libyan Embassy staff said it is worth noting that the embassy building is insured by the French state and can never be invaded in any way. The embassy added that an internal investigation is under way.
