Algerian and French foreign ministries talked over Friday the Libyan file ahead of the 8th political consultations session between the two countries scheduled for next week.

A statement by the Algerian Foreign Ministry said the Secretary-General of Algeria's foreign ministry Amar Blani and his French counterpart Anne-Marie Descôtes held preliminary discussions of the 8th Algerian-French political consultations.

The two diplomats reviewed regional and international issues of common interest, especially the Libyan crisis, besides Western Sahara, and the situation in the Sahel and Mali, according to the same source.
