The Libyan Navy has confirmed the rescue of 148 migrants, including 15 women and 11 children, from aboard three rubber boats off the coast of Sabratha.
"The migrants were rescued in three separate operations that took place at different distances," the Information Office of the Libyan Navy explained, pointing out that they were of different Arab and African nationalities.
Humanitarian and medical assistance was provided to the migrants before they were handed over to the Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency in Sikka shelter of Tripoli.
