Tripoli-based House of Representatives called in a statement on Wednesday the UN Security Council to ban military aircraft from flying over Libyan territory to protect civilians from the air attacks carried out by Haftar forces and his foreign backers.

The statement condemned the airstrike on the equestrian club in Janzour, pointing out that Haftar is using the term “National Army” to kill children.

"Haftar's air raid on the equestrian club near the HQ of the UN mission in Libya and other international organizations puts the reputation of the United Nations and the Security Council at stake," the statement read.
