Libya Crimes Watch (LCW) has urgently appealed to the International Criminal Court (ICC) to address alleged human rights violations at the Gernada Prison, located in eastern Libya and controlled by forces loyal to Khalifa Haftar.

In a statement released Friday, the organization urged ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan to expedite investigations and issue arrest warrants against individuals responsible for acts of torture and abuse at the prison complex.

The call follows leaked videos allegedly depicting torture by militia members and is supported by testimonies gathered by the rights group.

These violations are systematic and ongoing, amounting to potential crimes against humanity within the ICC’s jurisdiction,” the organization said, emphasizing the need for urgent measures to ensure accountability and end impunity for such actions.
