Libya’s Directorate Support Agency (DSA) has denounced what it described as a “deliberate smear campaign” against its deputy head, Colonel Ali al-Jabari, amid growing tensions between state security institutions and armed groups.
In a statement issued via Facebook on Saturday, the agency accused unnamed parties of attempting to discredit its leadership through social media platforms. It described the campaign as a “desperate effort” to undermine its work in maintaining public order and combating criminal networks.
The DSA pledged to respond “robustly through the media,” vowing to present evidence to expose what it referred to as “criminal militias” accused of spreading violence and instability across the country.
“The campaign will not weaken our resolve,” the agency said, reaffirming its commitment to what it called a long-term struggle against armed groups operating outside state authority. “Our objective remains clear: the establishment of a national army and police force loyal to God and to the homeland.”
