The head of the Libyan Olympic Committee, Jamal Zerouq, stressed that the committee had no part in the recent decision by the International Table Tennis Federation to dissolve the Libyan Table Tennis Federation and form a temporary committee for 3 months until elections are held for a new board of directors.

The Libyan Table Tennis Federation already held elections 10 months ago, which resulted in Mohamed AbuSaif becoming the head of the union.

Zerouq stated at a press conference that in fact it was the clubs that complained to the international federation, and it was the president of the union, AbuSaif, who introduced the game into all sorts of conflicts and problems, all of which should never have happened.
