Libyan truck drivers

A group of Libyan truck drivers have shared videos documenting assaults and thefts of fuel and goods along the border with Egypt in recent days.

Mohamed Saqr, head of the Libyan Truck Drivers Association, confirmed that they have instructed Libyan drivers to leave Egyptian territory and Egyptian drivers to leave Libyan territory by September 19.

According to Saqr, these attacks began a few days ago on the Beni Suef-Fayoum agricultural road, where groups of Egyptians blocked the road to drain fuel from the trucks' tanks. He added that despite being present, Egyptian traffic police did not intervene.

As the assaults increased, including the theft of mobile phones, money, and the breaking of truck windows, the drivers began returning to Libya on Friday evening.
