Fouad Bargash, President of the Libyan Basketball Federation, has been elected Vice President of the Executive Office of the Arab Basketball Federation, representing the Maghreb region. His term will run from 2024 to 2028.
The decision came during the General Assembly of the Arab Basketball Federation, which also saw the reappointment of Ismail Al-Qurqawi as President for a fourth consecutive term, reaffirmed by acclamation.
In addition to Bargash, four other vice presidents were named: Abdulrahman Al-Masaad of Saudi Arabia (Gulf region), Nadim Hakim of Lebanon (Levant), Omar Mosailehi of Egypt (Central Arab region), and Fajr Jassim of Bahrain, who will serve as Vice President for the women’s seat.
The Arab Basketball Federation’s General Assembly includes 22 member nations and plays a pivotal role in shaping the development and governance of basketball across the Arab world.
