Libya's Coast Guard has intercepted and returned 74 migrants to Tripoli last night, said the IOM on Wednesday.

The IOM clarified that among the rescued were 24 children and two women, noting that its teams were on-site to provide emergency assistance, including food and water.

Meanwhile, another 12 migrants were intercepted and returned to Zuwara, according to the IOM. It noted that at least 600,362 migrants are currently in Libya, raising concern that the majority of these migrants have limited or no access to health care, in addition to some reported to be suffering inadequate food consumption.

The shutdown of the country related to the coronavirus pandemic has also placed an additional burden on the migrants' living conditions, as the migrants' unemployment significantly increased in May-June, according to Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) of the IOM.
