Libya's Foreign Minister, Mohamed Sayala has said that Libya pins high hopes to the Berlin Conference, stressing that to achieve the desired results, divisions in the UN Security Council, the European Union, and the League of Arab States, must first be resolved.

In his speech at the Mediterranean Dialogue Forum, Sayala indicated that the best solution now is an urgent ceasefire then to put the situation in Libya back on the peaceful track set by the United Nations.

Sayala stated in remarks to the Russian and French interference "The crisis is not purely Libyan, but requires a solution on a global scale, before seeking an internal one".
