The Tripoli Criminal Court has sentenced a defendant to 7 years in prison for importing equipment for the production of alcoholic beverages from Poland.

The Public Prosecution filed a lawsuit against the defendant for producing and trading in alcohol in violation of Sharia law, according to a statement from the Attorney General's Office on its Facebook page on Sunday.

The court fined the defendant five thousand dinars and ordered the confiscation of the seized alcoholic beverages and the equipment used in their production.
