Mayor of Central Tripoli Municipality, Ibrahim Al-Khulaifi, and Director of Tripoli Municipal Guard, Brig. Gen. Ramzi Hadiya, have discussed the possibility of establishing a special market for street vendors in the city center and issuing licenses for them.

In a statement on Friday, the municipality said that Al-Khulaifi and Hadiya’s meeting dealt with the situation of street vendors in the capital and Martyrs’ Square, in order to find solutions for this category and organize their work.

The mayor expressed his keen interest to “find solutions and create a special market designated as a place to conduct their business in the city center.”

Brig. Gen. Hadiya on his part said that the Municipal Guard Directorate welcomes this step, provided that it takes place in an organized manner and under the supervision of the Directorate in terms of the competence of the Municipal Guard.
