The Head of Presidential Council, Mohamed Menfi and the United States Special Envoy to Libya, Amb. Richard Norland, called in their meeting at the Presidential Council headquarters in Tripoli on Thursday for a clear financial mechanism to monitor spending.

The media office of the Presidential Council said that the meeting between Menfi and Norland focused on latest political, economic and security developments, advancing the political process, and the Presidential Council efforts to communicate with all parties on elections that all Libyans aspire to.

The meeting also discussed the necessity of working with a clear financial mechanism to monitor and rationalize spending and increase disclosure and transparency, while emphasizing adherence to national sovereignty in managing resources, the media office added.
