The Head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, arrived on Sunday evening in the Egyptian city of Sharm El-Sheikh, to participate in the "COP27" climate summit hosted by Egypt.

The Chairperson of the 27th session of the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry announced, on Sunday, the official launching of the summit activities, with the participation of delegations of member states of the agreement and representatives of several parties concerned with international climate action.

The media office of the Head of the Presidential Council said that Menfi's participation in the summit comes at the official invitation of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

Menfi is accompanied at the summit, which will take place from 6 to 18 November, by the Minister of Environment in the Government of National Unity, Ibrahim Al-Araby.
