Head of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Menfi, has asked the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdel Hamid Dbeibah, to stop all actions related to transfer ownership of state property at the Real Estate Registration Authority, and to limit the role of the authority in the transitional phase to administrative work only without procedures for transferring, documenting and realizing ownership.

This came in a letter sent by Menfi to Dbeibah, in his capacity as head of the Presidential Counci. Menfi based his request on the decision of the former National Transitional Council, which provided for the suspension of all disposition actions such as transferring property ownership, halt registration applications, but to work only to preserve real estate files in all branches and departments of the authority.

On September 6, the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity issued a decision naming Radwan Al-Sunni, head of the Real Estate Registration Authority, a move viewed as a step towards the re-operationalization of the authority, which many reject on the pretext of its danger to state property in light of the state of lawlessness in the country.
