Head of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Menfi, has held meetings with African heads and officials on the sideline of the summit of the leaders of the United States and Africa.

The meetings focused on the role of the African Union in the reconciliation efforts and bringing the views of the Libyan parties closer.

Menfi met with Tunisian President Kais Said and Congolese President, Denis Sassou Nguesso.

He also met presidents of Senegal, Macky Sall, Niger's Muhammad Bazoum, Liberia's George Weah, and Mauritanian's Muhammad Ould Cheikh al-Ghazwani, in addition to the Algerian Prime, Minister Ayman bin Abdel Rahman, Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch, and the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.

The meetings also discussed supporting the efforts of the Presidential Council to heal the rift and end the transitional stages in Libya, according to a statement by the Media Office of the Presidential Council.
