The Head of Presidential Council, Mohamed Menfi, discussed on Friday, with the Maltese Prime Minister, Robert Abela aspects of cooperation between the two countries in many fields, including health and security.

The two sides discussed the energy file and the global crisis caused by the Ukrainian-Russian war, and Libya's potential contribution to the energy aspect, according to the media office of the Presidential Council.

They also discussed the possibility of re-operationalization of joint committees from the executive authorities to manage files and topics of common interest to both countries.

Abela expressed his country's desire to work on opening a direct sea and air link between Libya and Malta, and for the return of Maltese companies to invest in Libya, reaffirming Malta's support for the stability of Libya, leading to elections.
