The head of the Presidential Council (PC), Mohammed Menfi, discussed Thursday with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, the United Nations' efforts to achieve stability in Libya and end the transitional stages, by holding free and fair elections, according to a legal framework and as soon as possible.

During the meeting held on the sidelines of the Stockholm +50 international environmental meeting, Menfi praised the efforts of the United Nations in supporting the Libyans to reach peaceful solutions, through its mission in Libya, to restore security and stability to the country.

For his part, the Secretary-General of the United Nations stressed the importance of all parties working to maintain stability in Tripoli and throughout the country.
