The Head of Presidential Council, Mohamed Menfi, has issued a decision to establish the “National Referendum and Polls Commission” for the purpose of implementing referendum and national polls.
According to the decision, the commission is an independent body with legal personality and independent financial liability, and is headquartered in Tripoli, with the possibility of exercising its duties in any other city with the approval of the head of the Presidential Council.
According to the decision, The Head of Presidential Council is the one who determines the issues that require holding referendum and approving its results, while ensuring the Commission’s impartiality and commitment to the transparency of the process conducted under its supervision.
