The Head of the Presidential Council (PC) Mohammed Menfi, on Sunday, set off for New York City to participate in the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly, which is set to discuss, in part, the latest developments in Libya.

A reliable source close to the PC said that Menfi’s visit is due to last a week, during which time he is expected to deliver a speech on behalf of Libya at the prestigious event and will also meet with numerous foreign ministers representing countries directly concerned with the Libyan crisis.

Italy, France and Germany are also expected to chair, what is considered, a “high-Level” event regarding Libya, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, according to a recent statement by the Italian Foreign Minister, Luigi Di Maio.
