The Chairman of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Menfi, participated, Sunday, in his capacity as Vice-Chairman of the African Union and President of the Arab Maghreb Union, in the 4th Mid-Year Coordination Meeting between the African Union, Regional Economic Communities and Regional Mechanisms.

The meeting was chaired by the Senegalese President, Macky Sall, the current chairman of the African Union, with the participation of the head of the host country, the Zambian President, Hakainde Hichilema.

The meeting discussed a number of issues on the continent’s agenda, such as the African Union’s response to the Covid-19 epidemic, the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), evaluation of the implementation of the first ten-year plan and the development of the second ten-year implementation plan for the African 2063 Agenda, the status of continental integration, in addition to cooperation between the Regional Economic Communities and the division of labor between the African Union, RECs and RMs.
