German Chancellor, Angela Merkel reiterated to the Presidential Council's (PC) head Fayez Al-Sarraj; the need to stop any military escalation that would undermine the political process, and to oblige all to respect the resolutions of the Security Council in this regard.

On the sidelines of the Arab-European summit in Sharm El-Sheikh, Merkel agreed with Sarraj on the importance of ending international competition and negative interventions; in particular from the European side, saying that such intervention contributes to prolonging the life of the crisis, according to the PC's head media office.

She also emphasized her support for the action plan of the UN envoy to Libya, and for the democratic track, promising to help Libya emerge from the present crisis.
