The Benghazi Court of Appeal has ordered the pretrial detention of the Minister of Economy and Industry, the official of the Ministry of Justice in the previous interim government (Abdullah Al-Thani’s government), on charges of deliberately disposing of 15 million dinars in violation of legislation for achieving illegal material benefits for himself and others.

The Attorney General said on Monday that the prosecutor investigated the corruption incidents that involved the minister, including hearing the testimony of the head of the Libyan interim government, Abdullah al-Thani, which confirmed his involvement in failing in preserving and protecting public funds cases.
