The Minister of Local Government in the Government of National Unity, Badr Al-Din Al-Toumi, has discussed with Ingbert Liebing, CEO of the German Association of Local Public Utilities (Verband kommunaler Unternehmen e. V. (VKU), enhancing cooperation between the two sides.
Both parties reviewed mechanisms for providing municipal services, as well as discussing the challenges facing municipalities in providing services.
Al-Toumi stressed the importance of researching and developing successful programs and mechanisms on how to secure and activate the funding sources available for projects in Libyan municipalities, improving the infrastructure and quality of services provided to citizens, and encouraging innovation and digital transformation.
