The Ministry of Defense of the Government of National Unity has called on the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) to provide support to the Libyan army to eliminate the effects that may have resulted from the use of some munitions during the year 2011.
The Ministry added during a meeting between the Director of the Office of the Minister of Defense and the OPCW European Union Coordinator in North Africa and the Sahel countries that this call comes after the emergence of health repercussions during the recent period.
The Ministry also expressed the Libyan army’s support for the OPCW and its commitment to working in accordance with international humanitarian law and rights.
