The Ministry of Interior has condemned the arrest of citizens arriving from the eastern region of Libya at Mitiga Airport via Benghazi’s Benina Airport.

The ministry said in a statement that such acts do not represent the Government of National Accord (GNA) and do not serve the public interest of the country as a whole.

It emphasized that this act, which it described as ‘reckless’, was not in the interest of the country, adding that it subverts the current political negotiation process.

The ministry also indicated that an investigation was underway into the incident, specifying that legal measures were taken against the armed group which carried out this act, according to the statement.
