The Ministry of Justice and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) held a meeting Sunday to follow up procedures for repatriating foreign inmates, held at the ministry's correction and rehabilitation institutions.

The meeting, which was attended by Emmanuel Mahari, Protection and Voluntary Return Officer at the IOM, reviewed the ideas and practical steps proposed in this regard, according to a statement by the Ministry of Justice.

The two sides agreed on a joint work mechanism to address the conditions of foreign inmates targeted for deportation, in coordination between the ministries of justice and foreign affairs, the International Organization for Migration, and the concerned embassies.
