The Ministry of Oil and Gas has called on all the Libyan political actors to distance the oil sector from political strife, give priority to the interests of the country and alleviate the suffering of the citizens, warning of putting the country at risk of bankruptcy and dependence on World Bank.

The oil closures crisis is causing direct damage to the interests of Libyans in light of the rise of prices in global oil markets, in addition to missing sales opportunities, the ministry explained in a statement.

It also confirmed that it had formed a committee since the beginning of the crisis to communicate with the notables in the south, west and east of the country to indicate the negative effects on the national economy and the infrastructure of the oil and gas sector.
