The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Wissam Idrisi announced on Tuesday the evacuation of 500 Libyan citizens stranded in Tunisia, via air flights and a further 1,500 by land, following a decision to partially reopen Ras Ajdir border crossing.
Idrisi said in a press statement that the Ministry is working on developing a system to conduct testing for the detection of Coronavirus for all Libyan citizens wishing to return to their country, to be done strictly in recognized and accredited Tunisian laboratories.
He further explained that if a negative result was obtained, those wishing to return are guided to the air or land crossings, obliging the travelers to self-quarantine on their return home strictly for one week, in order to protect the nation from the pandemic.
