The Labour and Migrant Affairs Committee of the Misrata Municipal Council has held an extensive meeting to follow up on the issue of migrant labour, with the participation of representatives from relevant committees and several security agencies.
The meeting, which was chaired by Municipal Council member Othman Issa, focused on the challenges related to the presence of foreign labour and ways to enhance monitoring mechanisms and coordination among concerned authorities.
This meeting comes as part of Misrata Municipality’s ongoing efforts to regulate the labour market and improve the conditions of migrant workers, amid calls to enforce relevant laws and ensure compliance with legal procedures in light of the demographic and economic changes taking place in the city.
