The Central Committee for Municipal Council Elections announced on Monday the opening of candidacy for elections in 13 municipalities, and the launch of awareness and rationalization campaigns in them.
This came during a press conference held by the committee on the sidelines of the conclusion of the two-day training workshop, with the participation of the heads and members of the sub-committees of the municipalities targeted for electing their municipal councils.
The municipalities included Janzour, Gharyan, Al-Khums, Bani Walid, Zella, Marada, Al-Urban, Al-Jalidah, Al-Abraq, Al-Qeeb, Zuweila, Tenaynai and Al-Mardom.
The committee confirmed the completion of all technical, logistical and legal procedures to implement the election of municipal councils in the declared municipalities, according to the absolute closed list system.
