The General Staff of the Libyan Army, under the command of the Government of National Unity, announced on Sunday the detonation of a naval mine from the remnants of World War II, in Nagaza area: west of the city of Al-Khoms. The detonation was done on Saturday in the presence of the Head of the Coast Guard and Port Security, Reda Issa.

The General Staff indicated on its Facebook page that the naval mine was the second to be detonated by the Special Operations Group of the Coast Guard and Port Security - Central Region Sector.

It confirmed that two out of seven naval mines from World War II remnants were detonated, saying that they were monitored by monitoring and research operations, and that preparations are underway for the detonation of the remaining five naval mines.
