The National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed the registration of leishmaniasis cases in the Ashkadeh area in the Brak Al-Shati municipality.

According to the NCDC, the disease was caused by the sand flies and wild rodents in the area, pointing out that samples were already taken for analysis within the reference laboratory for diseases.

The center confirmed that it had sent medical teams to the area to assess the environmental situation, and to give the necessary treatment and technical recommendations to help the families, and to take precautionary and preventive measures to avoid the disease.
