The National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) launched on Sunday a training program for environmental sanitation and service teams in the field of controlling mosquitoes that transmit malaria.

The event kicked off under the slogan "Together for an environment free of disease vectors," in cooperation with the Environmental Sanitation Office in the Jufra Municipality, central Libya.

The program's objective is to raise and refine professional competencies in the mosquito control filed using modern scientific methods that are safe for humans and the environment.

The organizers said the training course would be the first step towards a comprehensive campaign to combat mosquitoes in Sukna town and from there to the rest of the cities.
