The National Committee for Human Rights in Libya (NCHRL) on Friday reiterated its rejection of any deal to settle African migrants and refugees in Libya.

In a statement, the committee called for an EU-led initiative in which the countries of origin, transit, and destination cooperate to tackle the phenomenon of migration in a manner that ensures the fundamental rights of migrants in general and refugees in particular.

The NCHRL called on the EU member states to reconsider their approach towards limiting the access of migrants to Europe, due to the human losses resulting from such policies, according to the statement.
