10 students from Kufra and Tazirbo, who were kidnapped more than a month ago by an armed group, were released after paying LYD 400k ransom. One of the students said that each family paid 40 thousand dinars for a Chadian national residing in Sabha, saying the kidnappers are part of a Sudanese opposition group, which took them to an area near Zillah.

An unknown armed group kidnapped the journalist, Abu Bakir Al-Bezanti, and took him to an unknown place using a blackened car, which stopped him in Bab Benghashir area in Tripoli on Saturday, said a source close to the journalist. The source added that four gunmen got out of the car and forcefully led Al-Bezanti to an unknown place. All authorities in Tripoli have been informed, yet still no news about his whereabouts.

The Prime Minister of the Tobruk-based government, Abdullah Al-Thanni, asked his government’s Interior Minister to prevent the Chairman of the government’s Investment Authority from travelling whether by sea, land or on a plane and told him to confiscate his passport. This was prompted by the Head of Investment, Economy, and Trade Committee of the House of Representatives and Ali Al-Gotrani – the deputy head of the UN-proposed government’s Presidential Council, who both accused the Chairman of corruption and squandering public money.

The Chairman of the National Oil Corporation, Mustafa Sanallah met with the British Ambassador to Libya, Peter Millette, on Sunday. The Ambassador spoke his country’s desire to present the technical and professional expertise needed in the NOC in the field of oil and gas to boost production and hence the Libyan national economy. Sanallah, on the other hand, told the British Ambassador about the hardships facing the oil and gas sector currently saying the NOC is doing its best to restore oil production as it were before. They also talked about facilitating the procedures of visa for Libyan trainees to enter the UK.
