Libyan Interior Ministry authorities deported 180 illegal immigrants of different African nationalities, especially from Mali and Niger, from Al-Naser Migrants Shelter Center to the southern Ubari and Gatroon cities before they are returned to their origin countries.

The member of the Libyan Political Dialogue, Nouri Al-Abar, said the dialogue committee agreed on holding an open discussion meeting in Ghadames city starting from January 11, pointing out that there will be no foreign parties. He added that the proposal was put forth by some of the dialogue members amid the current obstacles facing the implementation of the political agreement and the crises facing Libya.

The head of the Tobruk Commercial Chamber, Ibrahim Al-Jarary, blamed the businesspersons, who obtained letters of credit from the Central Bank of Libya to import goods using the official foreign currency rates, for the rocketing prices in the markets. He added that they are reselling the goods to other businesspersons leading to the soaring of prices for the simple citizens, who buy the goods willy-nilly.

Tripoli Port’s administration said the rescue units at the port managed to tug the Cyprus-flagged ship, which has been in the water at the entrance of the Tripoli port, and docked it into safety.
