The member of the Libyan Political Dialogue, Nouri Al-Abar, said the dialogue committee agreed on holding an open discussion meeting in Ghadames city starting from January 11, pointing out that there will be no foreign parties. The head of the Tobruk Commercial Chamber, Ibrahim Al-Jarary, blamed the businesspersons, who obtained letters of credit from the Central Bank of Libya to import goods using the official foreign currency rates, for the rocketing prices in the markets. He added that they are reselling the goods to other businesspersons leading to the soaring of prices for the simple citizens, who buy the goods willy-nilly.

Tripoli Port’s administration said the rescue units at the port managed to tug the Cyprus-flagged ship, which has been in the water at the entrance of the Tripoli port, and docked it into safety. It added that he ship, which is laden with 19k durum wheat, is being checked for viability to sail back in the water.

An explosion at an ammo depot in Mizda was heard in the district and the neighboring areas, according to eyewitnesses from there, saying the residents panicked and got terrified and no official reason behind the blast has been given yet.
