The town of Sokna in Al-Jufra city is preparing to celebrate the coming of spring by throwing its fourth international touristic and traditional carnival. "Pottery works, jewels, gems, traditional food, popular medicines, hand-made objects and many more will be presented at the carnival that will kick off on March 17 and end three days later.

PC deputy head, Abdelsalam Kajman, met with the directors of a number of Turkish hospitals in Tripoli on Monday. He discussed with them the joint cooperation in the health sectors as well as facilitating the treatment of Libyans in Turkey. The Turkish delegation expressed readiness for cooperation with Libya and offering consultation to Libyan hospitals and the ministry of health in general.

The General Water and Sanitation Company in Misrata has announced a complete two-week water cut in the city due to maintenance, the director of water department in the company declared. Mohammed Abu Hajar said maintenance teams are working to repair damage in pipelines and water valves by outlaw groups.

Libya’s National Reconciliation Council has called on all Libyans to abandon violence and resort to peaceful solutions. In a statement, the council demanded an end to fighting in the oil crescent and called rival groups to engage in political talks to end the conflict. The council also stressed that return of IDPs to their homes is a legitimate right.

Aman Bank said work has resumed in all branches following the massive fire that destroyed its main HQ in Gurji, Tripoli. The bank’s administration has moved to its office in Omer Mukhtar Street. It confirmed that the database of customers was not damaged in the fire and it’s working normally now.

Three power units at Al-Zawiya power plant and one power unit at Misrata power plant have gone out of operation, said GECOL, adding that the reason was the fact that the generation units were shut down to unexpected tide movement leading to a big number of sea plants washing ashore. GECOL added that there would be load shedding for three hours a day until it deals with the issue.

The Qatari Prince, Tamim Al Thani received the Head of the High Council of State (HCS), Abdelrahman Al-Sweihli, and his accompanying delegation at the royal Palace in Doha on Monday to discuss the mutual relations and joint interests of the two countries, according to the HCS's media office. Al-Sweihli, arrived in Qatar Sunday on a formal 2-day visit to the Gulf state.
